GOOD NEWS FOR THE NORWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Norwood Public Library funding is safe for now until the end of 2010. Mayor Barsa went to Trenton and got the tax cap waiver for Norwood.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended or helped spread the word about the May 10th Library Board of Trustees meeting. To our amazement, Mayor Barsa and Town Council Liaison Barry Scott were greeted to a standing room only meeting. It was attended by passionate, caring residents who made their voices heard about the Norwood Public Library. The meeting was filled with intriguing questions, passionate arguments and a strong supportive voice.
In a show of good faith, the Library Board of Trustees offered a small rent increase (effectively a budget cut) to Mayor Barsa and the town. The effect this budget cut has had on the library is even more pronounced, and as we assess the current situation, we will most likely need our residents help once again. Please let all your friends and neighbors know about this blog so that we can more effectively communicate to each and every Norwood resident. STAY TUNED!!
